COLLAGING WITH SYMMETRICAL AND RADIAL BALANCE
with Jalen Colton Sanchez

Jalen Colton Sanchez is an emerging dynamic mixed media collage artist who lives in San Antonio Texas. His work has won numerous awards, and he is sharing for the first time some of the techniques that he has developed to make collage art compelling and unforgettable in this workshop called Collaging with Symmetrical and Radial Balance.

Workshop Description
Throughout this hands-on experience, participants will delve into some of the core principles of design, learning how to seamlessly blend symmetry and radial arrangements to create unique collage artwork. Through engaging exercises and demonstrations, you'll learn transformative techniques which can help elevate your creative vision. This workshop offers something for everyone and is meant for any skill level. Come prepared to experiment with newfound techniques, and leave inspired to create your own unique masterpiece. (See Materials List Below)

Materials:
Required / essential

• Paper / scraps to collage with (Some material will be provided)
  
• Large selection of images for collaging with (can email instructor to print images for you) (Must have multiple printouts of same images for repetition purposes)
• Cutting tools such as scissors or x-acto knife (Highly recommended to cut images beforehand as to have more time to work) 
  

• Elmer's glue or glue sticks 
• Medium / varnish such as matte medium or gel medium, or mod podge (needed to seal and protect finished collage) 
• Acrylic paints and paint palette
• Stencils ( some will be provided)
• Paint brushes in a range of sizes / shape that you feel comfortable working with 
• At least one stretched or primed canvas no larger than 16”x20”

Suggested

• Tweezers to handle small pieces of paper
• Stamps and inked ink pads
• Markers, pens, color pencils
